Alva blinked as Frei woke up and asked her questions. Could she really not remember him? “I’m Alvara your bruder and you’re in the gallery,” he answered. “Can you not…what is the last thing you remember?” he asked concerned. He had to know if she lost her memory completely or if just parts of it.
“Alvara? That’s a pretty name!” she said as she slowly sat up and clutched her head. “…and you’re my brother? Unbelievable!” Frei added, looking around and giggled. “Oh wow, this room is beautiful! I really don’t know, I can only remember darkness. Who am I?” she asked, smiling at him.
‘Oh gott…she doesn’t remember…anything…’ Alva thought to himself. “Danke. You are Freida, one of my younger sisters,” he said. “This gallery is a part of our home and you like to come here to look at my paintings. You want to take a closer look at some of them?”
Frei leaned closer to him. “Frei..da…well that’s a nice name! But yours is better!” she commented as she tried to get up and limped towards the paintings, looking at them in wonder. “Everything’s pretty! You’re amazing, Al…al…” she scratch her chin in thought, trying to remember his name. “Alvara!” she turned to look at him and giggled.
Sofie skidded into a halt and opened the gallery door with a bang, making Frei jump in fright. Both of them looked at each other, and Frei broke into giggles. “Well, hallo! Who are you?” she asked.
“Eh…? What do you-” she didn’t get to finish her sentence and look at Alva, confused.
Alva smiled and blushed a little as he got up. “You can just call me Al if that’ll-” he stopped as the door opened with a bang. He turned to look at Sofie and then looked at Frei. “Freida, this is your twin sister Sofie,” he said and turned back towards his other sister. “Sofie, Frieda has lost her memory. I don’t know if it’s permanent or not,” he explained.
